  • Wetlands are land areas that are saturated or flooded with water either permanently or seasonally.
  •  Inland wetlands include marshes, ponds, lakes, fens, rivers, floodplains, and swamps. 
  • Coastal wetlands include saltwater marshes, estuaries, mangroves, lagoons and even coral reefs.
  •  Fishponds, rice paddies, and saltpans are human-made wetlands.
  •  We celebrate World Wetlands Day (WWD) to raise global awareness about the high importance of wetlands for people and our planet. 
  • WWD is also an occasion to commemorate the signing of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971.
  • Wetlands are often described as “kidneys of the landscape”.
  • The theme of WWD 2021 is “Wetlands and Water”.

Planting trees during internship training @ St.John's Girls Higher Secondary School,Nazareth

During out B.Ed internship at St. John's Girls Higher Secondary School, Nazareth for about 16 weeks. There were 11 members for B.Ed training joined  and we all decided to plant some trees which would be a remembrance life long in the school campus. We planted vadumai and arasa maram in the school campus. The trees list a lot of benefit to the soceity.  Trees  provide flowers, fruit, fodder and fuel to communities and living creatures, offer shade to nomads and their livestock, give shelter to birds and animals, prevent soil erosion and flooding, improve water catchment, generate oxygen, reduce pollution and benefit posterity while  decarbonisin g the atmosphere.

Independence day program , 15 th August 2021 @ RMP

       75th Independence day celebration of our college, R.M.P. C.S.I. P.S.K Rajarathnam Memorial College of Education, Sathankulam was held online in google meet due to the COVID- 19 pandemic situation.The program was started by inauguration address by student teacher B.Benoline Chandra, Mathematics and I, myself read the Bible and prayer was conducted for the start of the program. The Welcome address was addressed by student teacher R.Allwin Leo, Mathematics. As the Independence day competitions like speech, poem writing, slogan writing, solo dance, vegetable carving, singing was conducted a week earlier via online. The list of winner and runners was listed. The runner up and winner's program list was played via google meet . A special address was given by our college principal Dr.J.Jebaselvi with an inspiring speech on our independence day.
